I think things are set to take a turn for the better in the shows for young people/teenagers/under 25s department because John Retallack of Company of Angels has just been appointed as head of education at BOV. John has a long track record of introducing new European work to the UK for young audiences - much of it is award-winning: check out the Company of Angels website online ffi. His appointment will mean that younger audiences in Bristol will get to see more of this cutting edge new work, and it will raise the bar for those who are making work for YP. This won’t just work made by young people (as in the BOV Young Company style work) but also professional work made FOR younger audiences.
